Core Technology

IoT Sensors

We deploy connected sensors across your infrastructure — power metering and outage detection, water and gas metering, pipe leak detection — and stream every reading to your live map in real time.

What Our Sensors Detect

Real-time awareness across your infrastructure and environment

Meter power, water, and gas continuously — live consumption data instead of monthly reads

Detect power outages, pipe leaks (water and gas), and flood conditions before they become critical incidents

Monitor outdoor environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, wind speed, and freeze events

Deploy sensors across large areas using LoRaWAN for low-power, long-range connectivity

Reach locations where LoRaWAN isn't available using cellular CAT-M for reliable nationwide coverage

Connect your own LoRaWAN gateway and sensors yourself — add or remove devices anytime, with no installation crew required

Key Capabilities

What our IoT sensor network makes possible

Power Metering & Outage Detection
Live power metering at panel and site level, plus instant detection of power failures at critical points — traffic signals, pump stations, facilities — with alerts before impact cascades.
Pipe Leak Detection — Water & Gas
Detect pipe leaks on water and gas lines, water accumulation, and flood levels in real time. Get early warnings before damage compounds.
Smart Water & Gas Metering
Continuous consumption data instead of monthly reads. Spot anomalies, losses, and billing gaps across every meter you operate.
Weather & Road Conditions
Measure temperature, humidity, wind speed, and pavement freeze conditions at the street level. Enable proactive winter maintenance and real-time road safety alerts.
LoRaWAN & CAT-M Connectivity
Our sensors use LoRaWAN for wide-area, battery-efficient deployments and cellular CAT-M where deeper coverage or higher reliability is required — no tradeoffs needed.

Flexible Connectivity

We choose the right protocol for each deployment — no compromises

LoRaWAN
Long-range, low-power. Ideal for wide-area sensor deployments — years of battery life per device.
Cellular CAT-M
Reliable nationwide coverage. Used where LoRaWAN signals are limited or real-time data latency matters.

Why Wireless Changes the Math

Wired Fieldbus
Modbus RTU and BACnet MS/TP need daisy-chained cable, conduit or trenching, terminations, and an electrician per point. Adding one sensor to an existing loop can mean opening a wall — so cost grows with every point and every foot of distance.
Wireless Sensors
One gateway covers a campus or a multi-floor building. Devices run years on a battery, mount with a bracket or magnet, and join in minutes. The tenth sensor costs what the first did — no cable, no conduit, no electrician.

This isn't a case against BACnet or Modbus. They remain the right tools for control loops, and we read them directly where your building already runs them. The difference is that new measurement points no longer require new wire.

Deploy It Yourself

You no longer need us on site to get started. Connect your own LoRaWAN gateway and LoRaWAN sensors directly to Gostly, and skip the installation contract entirely.

Step 1

Connect Your Gateway
Register any standard LoRaWAN gateway to your Gostly account. Already running LoRaWAN coverage? Point it at us and reuse the network you have.

Step 2

Add Your Sensors
Onboard LoRaWAN sensors yourself with their device credentials. Each one appears on your live map as soon as it reports in.

Step 3

Start Seeing Data
Readings, dashboards, alerts, long-term history, and AI insights work exactly as they do on a Gostly-installed deployment.
Add and Remove Anytime
Bring a sensor online when you need it, take it offline when you don't, or move it to another site next week. Run pilots and expand on your own schedule — no service call, no waiting on us.
Same Platform, Same Data
Self-installed devices are first-class citizens: the same live map, the same alerting, the same data lakehouse, and the same long-term retention.

Prefer a crew? Full-service deployment is still available, and you can mix the two — self-install what your team can reach, bring us in for pole-mounted, buried, or high-voltage sites.

Use Cases

How agencies are using IoT sensors to operate smarter

Winter Road Maintenance
Know exactly where and when roads are freezing. Deploy pre-treatment precisely where sensors detect freeze conditions rather than treating entire routes by schedule.

Flood & Stormwater Response
Monitor flood-prone areas, drainage basins, and culverts in real-time. Trigger alerts and dispatch crews before conditions escalate.
