Privacy Policy

Effective January 1, 2026

Gostly deploys sensors and AI cameras across infrastructure and runs the platform that stores and analyzes what they measure. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

It covers this website and the Gostly platform. It does not cover third-party websites we link to.

Two roles, two sets of rules

Most of what our sensors and cameras measure is not personal information — it is water pressure, power draw, temperature, vehicle counts, occupancy totals. Where personal information is involved, our responsibilities depend on which of two roles we are in:

  • As a business, for our own visitors and prospects. When you fill in a form on this website or email us, we decide how that information is used. This policy governs it.
  • As a service provider, for our customers. When a city, utility, campus, or building owner deploys Gostly, the data their devices produce belongs to them. They decide what is collected, who sees it, and how long it is kept. We process it under our agreement with them. If you are a resident, tenant, or employee with questions about a specific deployment, contact the organization that operates it — we will route your request to them.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact form: name, email address, company, and your message.
  • Get started form: first and last name, work email, phone number, organization name, industry, country and state, the solutions you are interested in, and your message.
  • Alert preferences: the email addresses and mobile numbers you choose to send notifications to, and the conditions you want to be notified about.

Information collected automatically

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and reliability.
  • Local storage. We store a single flag in your browser to remember that you dismissed our cookie notice, so it does not reappear on every page.

Platform data

Sensor readings, camera-derived analytics such as people counts and vehicle counts, device health, and the alert history generated from them. We handle this on behalf of the customer who operates the deployment, as described above.

Email and SMS alerts

Alerts are the core of the product, so we want to be exact about how they work.

  • You set them up. Notifications are only sent because a user configured a rule — for example, notify this address when a leak sensor trips or a site loses power. We do not add anyone to alerts on our own.
  • They are operational, not marketing. Alert emails and text messages carry infrastructure conditions and system notices only. We do not use these channels to send promotional material.
  • We do not sell or rent your contact information, and we do not share mobile numbers collected for alerts with third parties for their own marketing.
  • Stopping them. Remove or edit the rule in the platform, reply STOP to any text message, or email us and we will remove the address or number. Reply HELP to a text message for assistance.
  • Frequency and cost. Message frequency depends entirely on the rules you configure and the conditions at your sites. Message and data rates may apply, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Because alerts are operational messages tied to your use of the service, opting out of them may leave you unaware of infrastructure problems. Account and service notices — billing, security, material changes — will still reach you.

How we use information

  • To respond to your inquiry, schedule a demo, or scope a deployment.
  • To deliver the alerts and reports you configure.
  • To operate, secure, support, and improve the platform.
  • To meet legal, tax, and contractual obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use the data our customers collect to build advertising profiles.

Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses storage that is strictly necessary for it to function, including remembering that you dismissed the cookie notice and keeping you signed in where applicable. If we later add analytics or other non-essential tracking, we will update this policy and the consent notice before turning it on.

Service providers we share with

We share personal information only with vendors who help us run the service, and only as needed to do so. They are bound to protect it and may not use it for their own purposes. This includes:

  • Cloud hosting and content delivery for this website and the platform.
  • Email delivery, for form notifications and alert emails.
  • SMS delivery, for text alerts.
  • Our content management system, for the blog.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights and safety of people or infrastructure. If we are ever involved in a merger or acquisition, we will notify affected customers before their information is transferred.

Retention

We keep inquiry and contact information for as long as needed to respond and maintain our business records. Platform data — sensor readings, camera analytics, and alert history — is retained for the term of the customer agreement, since the long-term record is what makes trend analysis possible. Customers can request deletion or export of their data at any time, subject to that agreement.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and network isolation for deployed devices. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect information appropriately for its sensitivity and to notify affected parties promptly if something goes wrong.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing (we do neither), and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. To make a request, email contact@gostly.us and we will respond within the period required by applicable law. If your request concerns data held by a Gostly customer, we will forward it to them.

Children

Gostly is a business product. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the effective date above. For material changes, we will give notice through the service or by email before they take effect.
